Bridget L. Moore Becomes Artistic Director!
Dancer, choreographer, educator—Princess Grace Award winner Bridget L. Moore will add one more credit to her resume: artistic director! On February 1, Bridget will become the new artistic director of Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Bridget has a long history with this prestigious company—in 2012, DBDT nominated Bridget for her Princess Grace Choreography Award which then commissioned Bridget to create several dance pieces.
Leading DBDT is a perfect fit for Bridget. She began her career as a dancer for the Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE Dance Company before transitioning into more work as a choreographer and teacher. Most recently, Bridget was a Visiting Artist of Dance at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea. Her choreography has been seen at Ailey Citigroup Theater, Bates Dance Festival, Aaron Davis Hall, the Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out Series, the Joyce Theater, Joyce Soho, New York City Center’s “Fall for Dance Festival”, Symphony Space, Dee & Charles Wyly theatre, Winspear Opera House, and in January 2006, Dance Magazine voted Bridget 25 to Watch in her field.
We are thrilled for this next step in Bridget’s career and looking forward to see where she takes Dallas Black Dance Theatre!
