Catherine Hurlin

Born in New York City, Catherine Hurlin began her dance training at Scarsdale Ballet Studio and Westchester Dance Academy. At the 2007 Youth American Grand Prix New York City Finals she was awarded the Hope Award. The following year she received a full scholarship to the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. Hurlin attended ABT’s Summer Intensive as a National Training Scholar in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and joined ABT Studio Company in 2012.

Hurlin joined American Ballet Theatre as an apprentice in November 2013 and became a member of the corps de ballet in June 2014. Her repertoire with ABT includes Kevin McKenzie’s Swan Lake, Marius Petipa’s Le Corsaire, and Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet, among others. She originated the roles of Young Clara and Mademoiselle Marianne Chartreuse in Alexei Ratmansky’sThe Nutcracker and Whipped Cream,respectively.  

Catherine Hurlin was promoted to Soloist in spring 2018.
