A former dancer with the Netherlands Dance Theater and Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, Bryan Arias is a choreographer based in New York City. He is the recipient of the First Place and Audience Choice awards for his work Without Notice at the Sixth Copenhagen International Choreography Competition (CICC), nominated for the Rolex mentor and protégé award, and winner of the Hubbard Street Dance International Commission Project. Bryan has choreographed for the Netherlands Dance Theater, The Scottish Ballet, and Tanz Lucerne Theater. With upcoming commissions for Ballet Basel and the Paul Taylor Company. In 2013, Bryan founded the Arias Company. His work has been reviewed as: “Arias’s approach is similar to the magic mixture in Wes Anderson’s films: The silliness is graced by sincerity, and the poignancy glows with humanity,” (Boston Globe).
