Initial PGF Award: Theater Fellowship, Lighting Design, 2006, Pierre Cardin Theater Award
Christopher Brown’s recent lighting designs include Smoldering Fires at the First Stage Children’s Theater in Milwaukee, The Lower Depths and Machinal at Bard College, Hazelle Goodman’s On Edge at Spoleto Festival USA, and Terry Dame’s Electric Junkyard Gamelan and James Scrugg’s Disposable Men both at HERE Arts Center in New York. Other projects include Anatomy 1968 at the Summer Play Festival, Pulling The Lever for Rising Circle, ‘Membuh: [Confessions of] The Only Generation at P.S. 122 and the ODC in San Francisco, Little Eyolf for the Century Center Ibsen Series, and Here To Put My Father In The Ground and The Three Sisters for Mud/Bone, a company of which he has been a member since 2001. He was a visiting artist and guest instructor at the University of Rochester for three years. He received his B.F.A. in visual arts and religious studies from Brown University and his M.F.A. in lighting design from New York University.
